    7.3L7.3L11 päeva tagasi
  • Its the 7.3L that was made by international not ford. And it had zero emission regulations. No reserc exhaust, no deff, no exhaust fluid, When things go wrong check your fuel pressure, oil pressure, CPS, ICP and IPR sensors and oil/ coolant heat exchanger, and you will most likely find your common problems. That of course only starts at 180,000 to 200,000 miles also they are completely made out of cast iron they don't do that anymore. I have a 2000 F250 hundreds of thousands of miles lift kit 37" tires and programmer. With factory 4r100 transmission had these on now for over 10 years and i still daily drive it. Also that seep if it is not coming from the UHVC gasket check the turbo back pressure valve. The o ring on the pedestal goes out and always leaks. It only helps on cold mornings. I took mine out and got a turbo pedestal delete.

  • I have a white / grey bottom 2001 4x4 excursion. With the leveling front springs, I am running 35' tires. The one upgrade that looks great are the 2011 - 2016 driver and passenger mirrors ( square housing). They bolt right on. That truck will outlast all of us with proper care. As with any heavy vehicle, put only top quality brake, steering and suspension parts.

  • No kidding, they need to put a truck engine like from the Excursion into new Rolls Royce. So much more reliable than the BMW engines and tons of torque. Proven long-distance engines with minimal servicing. A touch heavier but does that matter in A Rolls. Only issue: would Rolls live it down? Would it put people off the brand lol?

  • I used to have a couple clients with nearly identical 04 Excursions with the 6L. They loved their big tanks and I loved them because they fixed everything that went wrong with the boat anchor under the hood. I'm pretty sure I did turbos, injectors, FICMs and HPOPs on both of them at different times along with other miscellaneous repairs and maintenance. No head gaskets though since they were stock mall crawlers, and no transmission work (that actually seemed to be a reliable part of the 6.0 drive train). 7.3s just need injectors, turbo pedestal O rings maybe an occasional IDM or HP oil line. They're turds in stock form but boost up well, until you roast the trans.

  • EVERYONE who works on cars knows...or should know...that timing belt service has not as much to do with the actual belt as it does with the idler's and bearings in other rotating parts which may seize...causing the belt to burn and break. In all reality IF there's no tell tale bearing noise or movement...almost any belt can easily make it 200k miles. Seen it a few times on some really cheap cars. That belt is a lifetime component in comparison.
